This is a re-release of their 3rd album, originally released in 2001. Metal Blade seems to be continuing in their process of re-releasing each of Amon Amarth's CDs.
This CD was originally a turning point for the band as they had reached a plateau and needed to add some new elements if they were going to grow. Tracks like "Risen From The Sea" and "The Sound of Eight Hooves" were impressive, but you could tell that the band was stretching to find a sound that wasn't just a rehash of their previous two CDs. I feel that it was on this CD that Amon Amarth started the true sound....
