Melodic and emotive 4 minute intro sets the mood for the CD and leads us directly into the speed and ferocity of the title track, "From Afar". The mixture of styles and influences on this and the rest of the CD make this CD an enjoyable listen. There are elements of speed metal, black metal influenced vocals and folk/symphonic pieces that all blend together to create one of the best CDs of the year.
Recorded in studio Petrax (in Hollola, Finland) in April with producers Tero Kinnunen and Janne Joutsenniemi, this is the best Ensiferum CD yet. Your emotions are...
